Steve Gore Steve Gore came to Brown County with his parents in the early 1950’s and grew up on Orchard Hill. He attended and graduated from Brown County High School in 1962. “I remember Brown County as being a great place for a kid to grow up. That’s why I wanted to raise my two boys Bryan and Kevin here too. I believe I owe the community a debt that I can help repay by serving in local government.” After graduation, Steve enlisted in the United States Navy and served at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also served in the United States Air Force Reserve at Grissom AFB and Europe after returning home to Brown County. Steve and his wife, Stefanie Binkley-Gore own Binkley-Gore Associates, Inc. Taxes and Accounting. He is currently serving as Brown County Assessor until his term expires at the end of this year. He and his staff have worked to bring the office up to date and achieved their goal of on-time assessing and state data compliance earlier this year. He recently retired from active firefighting after 25 years with the Brown County Volunteer Fire Dept. at Nashville, where he served as Fire Chief for 8 years. He continues as the department’s Treasurer. He has gained governmental experience since being appointed to fill a vacancy on the Washington Township Board and being elected to a term in that office in 1994, followed by a two terms on the Brown County Council beginning in 1999. |
