Ron Sanders Tested and Proven - Qualified and Ready to Work for the Taxpayers Hi, my name is Ronald A. Sanders. I am currently finishing my term as Jackson Township Trustee. I am 52 years old and have lived in Brown County most of my life. I am a level one certified assessor-appraiser, a licensed auctioneer, a licensed real estate salesperson (unassigned), and an ASCA certified personal property appraiser. I have been married to Terry Sanders for almost 25 years. Terry owns and runs Creative Style Salon in Nashville, and I own Quick Sale Auction Service, Inc. When I took over the Trustee’s office it was a train wreck. The former Trustee had overpaid himself thousands of dollars. I had no check book, no ledger book, and no useable annual report with which to run the office, and we were audited right off the bat. On top of all that, he and the Commissioners had shut down the Fruitdale Fire Department, and a loan he took out for $38,000.00 had not been paid back. After my first three years in office, I am happy to report that we have repaid the loan. Jackson Township is again out of debt. Barring anything unforeseen, I don't think the next Trustee will need to borrow any more money. We are getting back on track with tax distributions and should be fine. The Fruitdale Volunteer Fire Department is again under contract to serve our township, and it and the Jackson Township Fire Department are getting along better, which is a good thing for the all people of Jackson Township. I have many other life experiences that will help me better serve you as Commissioner. For example, I was in the roofers' union at one time and I have run a roofing company. Because of that experience, I can look at work being done on county buildings and have a better understanding of what problems may exist and whether the work is being done properly. The roads are deteriorating all across the county and they say there is no money to fix them. I believe we had better get a handle on that problem or all of our property values will be going down, because nothing in my book brings up property values like a new hot mix black top road in front of your property. Records of all county owned real and personal property should be properly maintained and kept up to date. That will help us avoid budget shortfalls during an uncertain economy. If elected to commissioner, I will work well with other elected officials and county workers, just as I have already done during my past three years as Trustee. I believe it is the duty of an elected official to look past the politics of things to get the job at hand done. Otherwise, nothing gets done. In summing up, I believe that my qualifications and past experiences make me very qualified to be the next Brown County Commissioner and I will work for you, the taxpayers of Brown County, as hard as I have worked for the taxpayers of Jackson Township. All I need is your vote and support, and together we can keep and make better our wonderful way of life here in Brown County. Call me at 988-2645 and tell me what you think. You may have a better idea about something I haven’t seen or haven't thought about, and I am interested in what you think. It is your community. Sincerely, Ronald A. Sanders |
